The index host is the script’s to choose (client(key, indexHost) and setIndexHost()), and the library talks to it over Saloon’s Guzzle sender with none of the checks Mash\Http\Client applies. Until 2026-09-06 that made this the one HTTP path a script could aim at the pod, the cluster or the LAN. The same destination guard is pushed onto the sender’s Guzzle handler stack here, so every request the library makes — control plane, data plane, and any redirect — is validated and DNS-pinned exactly as the HTTP object’s are.
